RULER OF HIS FATE?

Shadows skim across the skies,
Causing me to doubt my eyes.
Powers eldritch and fey vie for power,
Here on earth, in this darkling hour.

Mortals go about their paltry lives,
Husbands come home to dutiful wives.
While evil lings and continues to grow;
While we battle ourselves, and ignore the foe.

Mankind thinks they now rule supreme;
Alas, things are not always what they seem.
The tangible, physical realm is NOT the only one;
And the battle for supremacy is far from done.

Evil shrouds this world in a pall;
It continues to grow, ever since the fall.
For a brief moment, the light shone on earth,
When God became flesh, and was given birth.

Yet mankind rejected the gift, clinging to dark;
Now all that remains is no more than a spark.
Soon even that feeble ember will be swept away;
Then for his OWN evil, man must pay.

Blindness and stupidity will be paltry excuse,
For his foulness and evil, his constant abuse.
For rejecting their maker, angels were sent to Hell.
There too, ungodly MEN must dwell.

Mankind is NOT the ruler of his own fate;
I pray they awaken, before it is too late.
